00am, and who work at a 24/7 worksite (i.

institution, transition center, supervision center, or command center), or whose work requires regular visits to these locations.

The Department of Corrections is the only State agency that currently offers a guaranteed 1% pay increase for every two years of service up to 20 years! What you'll do:
Responsible for the operation/maintenance/repair of high pressure steam (above 15 pounds pressure) heating plant which may include electrical production, or of a high pressure, high temperature water (above 160 pounds pressure or 250 degrees Fahrenheit) heating plant on an assigned shift; supervision may be exercised over a Boiler Operator and/or other semi-skilled and unskilled helpers through periodic checks of boiler room operations; work performed according to established methods/procedures; work subject to direction and review by the Plant Maintenance Engineer; performs other related work as assigned Maintains/tests/operates diesel generators for emergency electric power production; starts, brings to proper speed, synchronizes and puts loads on generators; takes load off and shuts down generators Makes minor adjustments/repairs to electrical generators, high pressure steam or high pressure, high temperature water boilers, pumps, refrigeration systems, and related plumbing equipment; assists in major repair work of this equipment; fires boilers and operates related auxiliary equipment as necessary.
Monitors instruments/meters/other controls to ensure production and voltages are being maintained in accordance with instructions.
Starts, brings to proper speed, synchronizes and puts loads on generators; takes load off and shuts down generators.
Performs other related work as assigned.
All you need for success:
Minimum
Qualifications:
Two or more years of experience in a trade area.
Experience in the operation, maintenance, and repair of high pressure steam, steam-electric, or high pressure, high temperature water plant equipment is preferred, but not required.
